Garden City Tongan church is a community church. Our church provides vital help to individuals and families living in the surrounding commmunity who are unemployed, working-poor, uninsured, disadvantaged and poverty stricken. No matter where you are, we are happy to help. Presently, our church is serving the community through:
Soup Caravan: The goal of Soup Caravan is to provide each person that visits with hot soup, bread, sandwiches, fruit, hot/cold drinks and snack foods from the caravan. Those who visit are greeted with warm smiles, caring conversations. The soup caravan drives to two different locations around East Side Christchurch during the winter months of the year, once a week providing people an alternative meal on a Thursday evening.
Adopt-a-Yard: The basic aim of Adopt-a-Yard initiative is to offer help without any hidden agenda, ‘no strings attached’ to elderly citizens, single parent homes (a single mother/ single father household) with large or young families and disabled/mobility restricted citizens under care. We offer help by cleaning yards and mowing lawns.
Food Bank: Food-bank at GCF Tongan provides food parcels to help the many individuals and families who need food assistance.

Here at Garden City Fellowship we appreciate our young people and we care for them. At GCF we aim to nurture and empower our young members. Youth Ministry at GCF exists to lead young people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and help them embrace His call to discipleship.

Pathfindering is a program organised to offer a wide range of learning experiences for young people 10 - 15 years of age. The Pathfinder club provides a church-centred spiritual-recreational program designed for junior and teens which appeals to this age group because its program features activities that meet their needs and interests. It is filled with action, adventure, challenge and group activities while providing opportunities for the development of new attitudes and skills that produce personal growth, team spirit and a sense of loyalty and respect for God, His creation and His church. For those who are familiar with it, “Pathfindering” conjures up images of marching, camping, curious hobbies, bugs and bats.

You are invited to sing with Garden City Fellowship choir. Anyone in the community can sing in the choir regardless of singing ability, background, religious affiliation or denomination. No auditions are required, just the ability to focus on learning and singing to the best of your ability. With all the practice resources we provide, you'll learn the music faster and will be able to use it for God's glory.
